Nuevo tratamientos para las enfermedades respiratorias is a Spanish-language, eleven minute video specifically tailored for the Hispanic community. The video addresses Hispanics’ questions and concerns about clinical research in a forthright and unbiased manner. The video details the clinical research process, the different phases of research, and the questions to ask before participating in a study. It features Hispanics with breathing problems who have participated in clinical trials or have benefited from the help of other clinical research participants. It emphasizes the importance of Hispanic participation in clinical research to advance medical science. This video was produced from the ground-up in Spanish, as opposed to taking English interviews or text and translating them into Spanish. In addition, great consideration was given to the cultural diversity that exists within the Hispanic population in the United States. This is reflected in the diverse panel of physician experts and patients used to produce this video. The video is therefore culturally appropriate and easily understood. This educational tool can be played in your waiting room or you can give copies to potential clinical research participants and their families.
