AWARE for All Heads South for the Winter

Having delivered three successful AWARE for All programs in 2006 (Boston, Indianapolis and Philadelphia), CISCRP continues to expand the program nationally with AWARE for All-Dallas scheduled for Saturday, March 31, 2007. AWARE-Dallas will be held in the Cityplace Conference Center located one-half mile north of downtown at 2711 North Haskell Avenue, Dallas from 9:00am to 2:30pm.

Aware for All, a free, open-to-the-public, day long program, is designed to help people make informed decisions about clinical research participation. Attendees have the opportunity to attend workshops and participate in Q&A with renowned physicians who conduct research, speak to volunteers who have taken part in clinical trials, and receive educational materials that allow them to make an informed decision about participating in a clinical study.

Workshops will include special focus on pediatric research with Dr. Naomi Winick, UT Southwestern/Children’s Medical Center of Dallas; heart disease with Dr. Darren McGuire, UT Southwestern/Parkland Hospital and Health Systems Outpatient Cardiology Services; asthma and allergy with Dr. Rebecca Gruchalla, UT Southwestern; cancer with Dr. Debu Tripathy, Susan B. Komen/UT Southwestern Breast Cancer Research Program, as well as other disease-specific workshops with renowned physician speakers from Baylor Research Institute and Medical City Dallas Hospital, amongst other local institutions.
