Meet the Panel

Libertad Gracia

Clinical Research Coordinator, Baylor

Libertad has been employed with Baylor since 2017, starting as a Community Health Worker (CHW). During her time at Baylor, she has worked on various research projects, with diverse roles and responsibilities for each project. Currently, she holds several titles, of note, Community Health Worker II, Community Health Worker Instructor, Community Health Supervisor, Community Outreach Supervisor and Research Coordinator. Libertad oversees the planning, organizing, and coordinating of various programs and events. Supervising four CHW’s, providing monthly training, education mentorship, leadership, and oversight regarding their day-to-day activities. Additional responsibilities include assisting community members with gaining access to needed services and increasing health knowledge and self-sufficiency. Libertad provides monthly measurement training and educational presentation to the community, such as cooking classes, nutrition, weight loss, diabetes, high blood pressure, and diversity education. She assists in teaching basic concepts of health promotion, diseases prevention, and self-management. In addition assisting with recruitment, data monitoring, assessing project effectiveness and maintains project oversight.

Norma García

News Anchor at Telemundo Dallas

Norma García is an award-winning journalist and trusted voice in the Dallas-Fort Worth community. She anchors Telemundo 39’s 5 p.m., and 10 p.m. newscasts. With extensive experience as a news anchor and reporter, Norma has covered a wide range of national and international events. Most recently, she provided comprehensive coverage of Mexico’s historic presidential election, where the nation elected its first female president, reporting for both Telemundo 39 and NBC 5. In 2017, she became the first U.S. journalist to provide live, on-the-ground coverage of the devastating September 19 earthquake in Mexico, delivering bilingual reports for Telemundo 39, NBC 5, and their digital platforms. Throughout her career, Norma has earned over 30 Lone Star Emmy Awards, recognized for her excellence as a news anchor, reporter, producer, and writer. In 2014, she was honored with the prestigious Gracie Award by the Alliance for Women in Media Foundation for her outstanding work as a news anchor. Born and raised in Ciudad Juárez, Mexico, Norma’s broadcasting career began at the age of 15 in Spanish-language radio. Her dedication and talent led her to television, where she has become one of the most respected and recognized news anchors in the Hispanic market. Her career has taken her to major cities including Chicago, Houston, San Antonio, Phoenix, and now Dallas. Norma believes that preparation and perseverance are the keys to success — a philosophy she applies both personally and professionally. She earned her Master of Science in Management, Leadership, and Strategy from Michigan State University in May 2017.

Susan Hernandez, MSN, APRN, AGACNP-BC, FNP-C

Director of Clinical Affairs at M3 Wake Research

Susan Hernandez, Director of Clinical Affairs at M3 Wake Research, is a distinguished healthcare leader with a proven track record in leading investigator engagement, optimizing operations, and driving business growth in the clinical trial industry. Her expertise extends from preclinical and formulation work as a pharmaceutical chemist, emergency department clinician, as well as investigator in clinical trial research. Susan combines dynamic leadership with a passion for innovation, regulatory compliance, and strategic planning to enhance trial execution and corporate partnerships.

Vicki Martinez

CCRC Site Manager, M3 Wake Research Dallas

With over 25 years of clinical research experience, Vicki Martinez leads her site with a focus on quality, data integrity, and patient safety. Her work spans Phase I–IV clinical trials in more than 40 therapeutic areas with certifications across a variety of indications. She has a particular interest in fostering inclusion, transparency, and trust between research teams and the communities they serve. Known for her depth of knowledge and dedication to advancing research, Vicki is a strong advocate for excellence and diversity in the clinical research industry.
