If I’m thinking about being in a trial, what are some questions I should ask?
There are many questions you will want to ask yourself, a healthcare professional, and trusted friends and family. Ask as many questions as you would like until you feel comfortable about making a decision. This is just a small list of some questions to ask:
- Do I want to participate?
- Does participating fit with my values, beliefs, and preferences?
- What are the risks and benefits? Do the possible benefits outweigh the risks?
- How might participating affect my daily life?
- Can a friend or family member attend doctors’ visits and take notes?
- Can someone watch my kids, pets, or house while I go to appointments?
